Nice pictures, bye-bye in-laws
Dec 22, 2004
Okay, I have been slackin' on getting pictures from my new Digital Rebel... they are coming. Soon. Suffice to say I *love* the new camera, it certainly makes my previous camera seem like a silly little toy. In the mean time, check out the pictures that our friend Shannon took of us! Personally, I think they are pretty darn cute. :)
We got Leanne's parents all moved out of the house. Mostly, that sucks. For one thing, I had to help them unpack boxes, which isn't that fun. I always prefer things that are fun :) Second, there is one less set of hands. Grandma has a professional set of diaper changing hands. But there is also just general holding, changing, helping... that is rather missed. Lastly, there is less "company" for Leanne. That means that when I am at my computer, and completely ignoring her... she is less happy. So, less computer time for me.
Brendan is doing awesome, growing by amazing amounts. I think he has grown about 5 inches since birth, which seems pretty extreme for 12 weeks. What I don't understand is where the "atoms" come from to let him grow. I mean, sure... he eats... but I mean, come on! The dude can churn out some serious diapers! I am surprised he can put on any weight at all, let alone grow 5 inches.
His latest trick is watching his feet while he wiggles them. Apparently it's a ton of fun. I tried it myself for awhile, and while I did smile, I am pretty sure its cuz I felt like a retard... not because I found it particularily fun. He is soooo much more aware now, which is cool. He can track you with his eyes (which are still really blue), turn his head towards you when you speak, and generally just do the stuff that you totally take for granted... but babies actually have to learn :) I will also say that when he is smiling at you, you feel like the king of the world. Very, very hard to explain why it is just sooooo awesome, but it is.
Another Addiction Update
Dec 15, 2004
Photography: Brendan is still insanely cute (and I mean this completely without bias!). He is up to 12.8 pounds now, eyes are still blue... starting to look like they might stay that way. Anyway, I still really enjoy taking pictures of the little guy. However, my camera (Nikon Coolpix 4300) has been driving me totally nuts. It's horrible at focusing in all but strong lighting. That has become so frustrating, that I decided to upgrade my camera!
So, now I have the Canon Digital Rebel on the way! It's a Digital SLR, which means I can use standard Canon lenses, add external flashes, etc. Super excited to see what this bad boy can do! Hopefully I don't get addicted to buying lenses else I will need a second job. Anyway, you can look forward to new and improved pictures on the website soon!
World of Warcraft: Why, oh why, did I ever start playing this game? I knew it would be addicting, I knew it would be fun, but I just had to play anyway, didn't I? And now, I can't remember the last time I was sleep before 1am. To reduce my guilt, I am trying to get all my friends to play as well... so far that is going well... Suckers! :)
This game has pretty well taken over my life, but I am sure that is about to come to a screaming halt. Leanne's folks are moving into their very own house this week! They are naturally very excited. I'm about to change alot more diapers. :(
On the bright side, at the end of this week I am off for 6 weeks! We aren't planning on going anywhere, just chillin' around the house, taking pictures, changing diapers, taking pictures of changing diapers... err, skip that last part. But I am really looking forward to the time off from work.
